FTP Walkthrough using SmartFTP™
If you do not already have the SmartFTP software, you can download it here.
- Open the SmartFTP program.
- Select the Settings option from the Tools menu.
- In the Settings menu, select Connection from the options at the left, then change the Mode under Data Connection from Passive Mode(PASV) to Active Mode(PORT). Then click OK. Note: You may need to disable any firewall software you have running before you will be able to connect.
- Enter your domain name, login, and password into the fields provided. It should look something like this:
- Click the Connect icon at the top left.
- You are now connected via FTP! If everything worked properly, your window should now look something like this:
When uploading your files, place them into the www directory if you would like them to be visible on the web.
